Configurations for bi folding doors is a method to explain how you ensure the doors are ordered to meet the homeowners needs. Configurations cover opening in or out, opening from the left, right or centre, number of panes and where the traffic door is located (if you have one). All configurations are as viewed externally. HomeView guarantees all bi folding doors for 10 years for the profile and glass. Hardware and furniture are guaranteed for 5 years. It's important to check the history of the manufacturer offering the guarantees to ensure they are likely to be around in the time they are offering which is a common issue in the industry. Yes, HomeView bi folds can open inwards into the house, or outwards into your garden, path or patio. If you choose inward opening bi fold doors, you’ll need the unobstructed space inside to fold the doors away when open. Similarly, if opening outwards, make sure you have the room to fold the doors away once open. When folded, the door sashes are held using magnets attached to the aluminium profile.

We currently offer the most popular colours available for bi folding doors including Grey on Grey, Grey on White, Black on White, or White on White. We’ll shortly be introducing more colours to the range.

We use anthracite grey profiles which are the RAL colour 7016, which is the most popular shade of grey currently available.

Whilst the vast majority of bi folding doors we produce feature clear glass, there are other options available such as tinted glass, self-cleaning glass, glass with integrated blinds, or even a patterned glass for homeowners looking for extra privacy.

We offer two handle choices. Firstly, a standard lever/lever handle for traffic doors, which is available in several colours. We also offer 2 stainless steel handle options for customers looking for a particular finish.

Traffic doors in bi folding door terminology simply means the part of the bi fold that opens and closes easily. It’s a hinged door that can be used independently without having to unlock all the sashes of the bi fold system to open a door. It features a multi-point lock that engages into the outer profile, or adjoining sash for extra security.

Secured by Design is a police backed initiative to reduce burglaries. To ensure your bi folding doors are Secured by Design compliant, please speak to your installer, who will upgrade the lock cylinder, vivo handle to carry a lockable cylinder and glass specification to feature laminated glass.

Looking after your bi folds is simple by following a few easy steps. To keep the profiles looking good, just wipe down occasionally with warm soapy water using a non-abrasive cloth. Do not use solvent based cleaners as this will affect the powder coated finish.To keep the tracks and rollers operating perfectly, make sure you vacuum out any small stones or debris that can build up with regular use.To clean the glass simply use a widely available glass cleaning solution. For standard bi fold handles simply wipe down with warm soapy water, but for stainless steel handles, a special stainless-steel cleaner will be needed, but ensure this is kept away from the bi fold door profile itself.

Whether you choose a standard cylinder, or 3-star cylinder for Secured by Design, the keys can be cut at your local lock smiths. 1 star cylinders come with 3 keys, 3 star cylinders come with 5 keys.

We offer a standard threshold and low threshold. The low threshold has a small upstand that can provide continuity between the inner floor covering and external floor covering such as block paving. We also offer internal thresholds which can be used between two internal rooms.

As we use a high-quality powder coated system approved by Qualicoat, it means HomeView bi folding doors are suitable for coastal grade installations. This means whether you live in the city, or near the coast, then HomeView bi folds will retain their appearance.
